JM Drygoods, Austin

A few weeks back I was scouring the streets of Marfa in search of JM Drygoods. Low and behold, the simple space had closed its doors and relocated to Austin…over a year ago. Silly me. We had a bit of time to kill before the Kinfolk dinner party in Austin Saturday night so we stopped by to check out the shop, unassumingly located in an old white house off 7th. They sell housewares, prints, art, jewelry, incense, cowboy boots and other nice things. The shop owner travels to Oaxaca, Mexico for buying trips often. I hear the markets there are insane, not to mention the food. The most-desired item in the shop was the copal resin incense– so delicious in smell and color.
