Dogs and Physics

I feel like I know Maddie the Coonhound. Like I really know her. With her squinting eyes and pleasing ways. Theron Humphrey takes amusing photographs of his dog Maddie perched on things across the United States.

Two years ago my husband Jason answered an ad selling American bulldogs on a dingy plot of land just beyond Houston, Texas. He traveled down Kingsley Road to meet our sweet pup. The name Kingsley was already penned on our long list of names for unborn children and (as it turns out) dogs, so we deemed this encounter kismet. I like pet names that are common people names. Jay, Arthur, Tom. Its as if the dog takes on the human with more ease.
